| I have taken this snippet of scripture out of a whole passage to be a little bit sneaky. Do you know where it comes from? Do you know the context? I believe that context is everything; it can take a simple truth like this - God will fight for us and we will have peace – and amplify it. This passage, in case you weren’t sure, is part of the exodus from Egypt. The people of Israel are being pursued by the army of Egypt. They were being chased and in front of them was a large expanse of water. Also, because they were civilians in the Egyptian society, they were not able to hold any weapons. Even with their vast numerical superiority, they had no way to fight back. Moses declared that it was the Lord who would fight for them. Into the cauldron of fear and panic, Moses called the people to look to their God. What are you facing today? What is causing fear and panic in your life? Look to the LORD to save you. Look to the LORD who will fight for you and bring you peace. |

| Father, you know me intimately and infinitely. I thank you that you have not forsaken me. I thank you that no matter where I go, you are with me, hemming me in. Today I choose your peace and your truth. You know the situations I face, and I bring [situation] to you. I feel like there is no solution, but know you can provide one. I look to Jesus, the author and perfecter of my faith, to guide me today. Holy Spirit, come and lead me in all truth. In Jesus’ name. Amen |
