| I love to give gifts. I love to see the faces of friends and loved ones opening gifts that they want or never knew they needed. Giving gifts can be one of the most enjoyable things in life. If we are all honest we long to see this. Jesus uses the hyperbolic statement of ‘us being evil’ to show how good God is. We know how to give gifts, so Jesus is saying that is nothing compared to how good God is at giving gifts. When was the last time you asked God for anything? Why don’t we ask God for things more often for ourselves? I hope these questions help you draw closer to God today. |

| Good Father, thank you for the gift of Salvation. Thank you for the reminder today that you can out give all of us. I thank you for all that you give me. I know I am your child and I can ask of you. Forgive me for not acting on this truth when I pray for myself. I ask now for [situation/event/gift]. I ask that you would bless me, that you would enlarge my influence, that your hand would be on me and that you would protect me from all evil. In Jesus’ name, Amen |
