| The word burden has many subtle meanings in the canon of scripture. It can be used to describe the burden an animal may carry. It can be used as a symbol of carrying others’ burdens, spiritually and psychologically. Later in the New Testament, Jesus uses it to encompass troubles in life. When the Bible talks about laying our burdens down, it covers all of life -- our physical activities of working/volunteering, our burdens for others and our troubles. Whatever we are facing, we are called to share it with the Lord. He will sustain us and ensure we are kept in His love. What a great promise for today. I encourage you to share your heart with your Father and share the burden with the King of the Universe. |

| Dear Lord, God & Father, thank you for loving me. Thank you for the truth I have read today -- that I can come before you and share my burdens. Today I give you [situation/work/person/trouble]; I ask that you would sustain me in this. I invite you to come into this situation and bless it. May your will be done. Guide me, Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen |
