| Paul is writing to his “son in the Faith” (cf. 1 Tim 1:2) and giving him fatherly wisdom. He is setting Timothy up to succeed. He is looking to leave a legacy in Timothy that will go on to bless us all. I am often asked how we are to live in God’s will or what God’s will is. I think some of that question can be answered in Paul’s encouragement to Timothy here. We are to be examples in the Word of God by how we read and study it. We are to be examples in the way we hold conversations, blessing not cursing. We are to be charitable, live purely and step out as the Holy Spirit in Faith. This can be hard to do, and we need Jesus’ help every step of the way. Our example of this living in and out of our communities will transform the world, just as Timothy did. |

| God the Father, I thank you for the letters of Timothy that encourage us. I thank you for Paul’s heart to leave a deposit in Timothy that would go beyond them both. Lord, lead me today to be an encouragement to all around me - that I may leave a blessing on others for future generations. Holy Spirit, help me to live out this verse and be an example of Godly living on earth. May your kingdom come through me today, I ask in Jesus’ name. Amen |
