| This verse in 1 John gives an example of how believers can lay down their love for others. Every day we will face needy people whom we ought to be willing to help if we have the resources to do so. Most people, if we are being honest, have more than we really need. Believers should be willing to help our brothers and sisters, we cannot just say we love each other, we must be willing to help. Love without action for others is worthless. So, where is God asking you to act today? Who needs some of your resources today? |

| Holy Spirit, I ask that you would show me where there is need. I give you permission to speak into my life in this moment and show me who needs what today. I ask that I would have the courage to step out in faith and serve others today. May I use the resources you have given me to bless those around me. Help me to live out my love for others in action and prayer today. Amen |
