| We find the theme of God’s mercy always at the very center of any discussion about salvation. Only God’s abundant mercy as Peter describes it here would allow him to have compassion on a sinful and rebellious people. However, there is more -- as there always is with our Amazing God. We are born again, as Jesus tells Nicodemus; not for this world, but for the wonderful expectation of the life to come. This expectation is rooted in the truth that God will keep His promises just as He did in the resurrection of His Son. Christ’s resurrection makes us certain that we too will be raised from the dead. We are born again from our sinful nature into a life of grace, which will become the life of glory. Enjoy your day -- the best is yet to come! |

| Father, I thank you for your abundant mercy. I thank you for my salvation and my future resurrection. I thank you that you are faithful even when I am not. I thank you that Jesus’ life, death and resurrection show off your great faithfulness. Thank you for saving me. Amen |
