| I love this verse and have been able to quote it from an early age. It is a useful scripture to note whenever we talk about salvation and the reasons Jesus came to earth. However, if I’m honest, I can neglect to recall at just what point in Luke’s narrative that this quote comes. It comes in the story of Zacchaeus, the lowest of all tax collectors, the thief, the swindler the downright nasty piece of work that absolutely no one spent any time with. It is in this conversation with this rebel that Jesus states the reason he has come. To save the poor wretches like Zacchaeus. It is for this type of person, the rebellious type who realized they needed a savior -- that Jesus has come. Take heart today that you have been found by the God of love who came to seek and save those who were truly lost. |

| Jesus, I thank you for your amazing grace. It truly is a sweet sound to my soul. I thank you that you saved a wretch like me. I thank you that you came and still come to seek and save those who are lost. Help me to play my part in this mission and bring heaven to earth today. May I lead others to meet you and receive your amazing grace. Amen |
