Today's Bible Study |
Jesus is in the middle of some key teachings about what His kingdom will look like. He needed his disciples to understand how this would be very different than models they were familiar with. He points out that the greatest person in His coming kingdom would be the servant of all. Only with such an attitude would the disciples be able to take the message of Jesus out to all nations. If they sought their own agendas, the message would be in trouble. Jesus came not to be served but to serve and give up his life. It wasn’t taken from him, he sacrificially gave up his life, and in doing so showed us how we are to live for others. Paul uses an example in Philippians 2 to point out that we need to live for each other in the unity that Christ gives us. How will you live to bless others today?
