| This verse contrasts the privileged and destiny of believers with the previous verse about unbelievers. We as believers are a selected people, a distinct group chosen to bless the world. We are unified in the Holy Spirt and are to see ourselves as part of the priesthood seen in the Old Testament. We are to carry the presence of God, minister to God in praise and worship and to bless the nations around us. We have been called out of the darkness into God’s great light with a purpose. What an amazing privilege we have to be light bearers in a dark world; a world which needs to hear the good news of God’s grace and mercy through Christ’s finished work with the cross. I pray that you will know this truth and it will do your day to day living.

| Father of all, I thank you for this amazing picture of my calling in you. I thank you that I am unified with others in the Holy Spirit and that I have a calling in my life. Help me to see my life as part of your royal priesthood -- chosen to bless the nation. Holy Spirit, lead me in all truths and help me to be a blessing in the areas where you call on me. In Jesus’ name, Amen
