Today's Bible Study
My grandfather was known on occasion to have said, “I owe that man some words.”

He said this when he had experienced a conflict of some kind with a friend or neighbor. Maybe at the time of the conflict, he said things he later regretted.

Many of us owe God some words. Of course, all of us need to speak words of praise and thanksgiving to Him. We should confess to God our agreement that His ways are just and right and that our desire is to obey Him.

There was a time in David’s life when he owed God some words, and he knew it. In Psalm 32:3, David described his state this way: When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.

I have been in David’s position.

How foolish we are to endure such agony when relief is as easy as confessing our transgressions unto the Lord. That is exactly what David did.

Do you owe God some words?
Today's Prayer
Father, I confess that although my spirit longs to honor and obey You, my flesh is weak. Every day I need cleansing and refreshing that come from only You. I am sorry for the times I have delayed confessing my sins to you, the One who already knows all things. I thank You for providing Jesus, through whom I have access to You. In His name I pray. Amen.
