Today's Bible Verse
"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh."
2 Corinthians 4:7-11 King James Version (KJV)

Today's Bible Study
Sometimes I want to say, “I give up! I’ve had enough! This is all too much!”

Life can be tough. It hurts when you least expect it. Jesus told us we would have troubles. Into this, the Bible speaks words of truth and encouragement. We can be troubled, we can be persecuted, we can be cast down. Yet, we are not distressed, we are not in despair, we are not forsaken, and we are not destroyed.

Because of Jesus, we have hope. If you are hurting today, tell your Father in heaven. Call on Him and His promises. Remember that God entered our world, suffered, died, and rose again to rescue us from Satan’s grip.

There is no pain that He doesn’t know. We can rest in the truth that our God has been there. He will be there with us and will continue to walk with us no matter what we face.

What a wonderful Savior we have!
Today's Prayer
Jesus, You came to heal the brokenhearted. Today, my heart breaks over [name situation]. I need Your touch. Walk with me closely today, Jesus. Lead me in all truth and grace as I follow Your ways. Let Your Holy Spirit fill me afresh with Your grace and love. May I know right now that I am loved from heaven. Amen.

Yesterday's Bible Study
Paul is again writing to the Corinthians. He says in 2 Corinthians 1:8: For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia.

But, rather than wallowing in self-pity, Paul uses this ordeal as an opportunity to praise God and to encourage the church at Corinth.

Jesus warned his disciples in John 15:18-20 that the world would hate them because it first hated Him. Paul’s life testifies to the truth of Jesus’ warning.

Read today’s verse again. Do you see the pattern? Paul encouraged his fellow believers by declaring: God saved us, He will save us now and will continue to save us.

What a wonderful truth. He delivered, He does deliver, and He will deliver.

Today, let these words of truth encourage you in your prayer and action. Ask the Holy Spirit to remind you of a time when God delivered you or is still delivering you. Let those reminders fuel your praise and worship as you seek Him again to deliver you and others today.
Yesterday's Prayer
Father, You know me. You know the situations I am facing. Remind me today of Your faithfulness in times gone by. Remind me of the work You continue to do and help me look forward to what You will do. Help me remember You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. I ask this through Jesus. Amen.
