The author, Louis L’Amour,
said, “A good beginning makes a good end.” If we
want to end well, we must begin well.
Do you
start a trip without first deciding upon the route
you should take?
What a flimsy beginning!
When
you know where you are going, you can take direct
steps to get there. A good beginning makes a good
end.
Paul’s words to Timothy are to be our
ending. We all want to say, like Paul, “I have
fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I
have kept the faith.”
Our desired ending
motivates us today. Spend focused time in the Word
and ask God’s guidance as you move forward.

| Father, help me keep my eyes focused upon the
goal. Help me fight the good fight, finish my course, and keep the
faith. Thank You for Your Holy Word, which leads me in all truth.
