Today's Bible Verse |
"And you, that were sometime
alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works,
yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh
through death, to present you holy and unblameable
and unreproveable in his sight." |

Today's Bible Study |
When I look in the mirror, I
see wrinkled skin and tired eyes.
These signs of age are evidence that God has
blessed me with a long life. Some of my friends
died young. I think of them when I hold my
grandbaby. This earthly joy was stolen from them by
an early death. I am thankful for the good things
that come with a long life.
My mirror also reminds me that Jesus lowered
Himself to take on flesh like mine. The One and
Only Son of the King of Heaven left his rightful
place to stand where I stand. He experienced
fatigue, hunger, rejection, and the worst physical
pain imaginable. Lauren Daigle speaks to this truth
in her song, Trust in You: “There’s not a place
where I’ll go, you’ve not already stood.”
Finally, my mirror reminds me I was made to reflect
God’s image. Sin mars that image, but it does not
destroy it. God is working even now to grow me more
and more into His image.
I glance into a mirror several times every day.
Usually I am checking my hair or my makeup. I
rarely take time to consider other things my mirror
is telling me: You have been blessed with a long
life. Jesus came to earth to experience life as you
experience it. You are made in the image of God.

Today's Prayer |
|
Father of Salvation, thank You for every
earthly blessing I have enjoyed. Thank You especially for Your plan
to bless me eternally. This plan depended upon Jesus’ willingness
to take on skin and live on a polluted planet. Remind me that I am
to be an earthly copy of a Heavenly God. I pray through Jesus.
Amen.

Yesterday's Bible

The author, Louis L’Amour,
said, “A good beginning makes a good end.” If
we want to end well, we must begin well.
Do you start a trip without first deciding upon
the route you should take?
What a flimsy beginning!
When you know where you are going, you can take
direct steps to get there. A good beginning
makes a good end.
Paul’s words to Timothy are to be our ending.
We all want to say, like Paul, “I have fought a
good fight, I have finished my course, I have
kept the faith.”
Our desired ending motivates us today. Spend
focused time in the Word and ask God’s guidance
as you move forward.

Yesterday's Prayer |

Father, help me keep my eyes focused upon
the goal. Help me fight the good fight, finish my course, and
keep the faith. Thank You for Your Holy Word, which leads me in
all truth. Through Jesus I pray, Amen.
