"To be used of God. Is there anything more encouraging, more fulfilling? Perhaps not, but there is something more basic: to meet with God. To linger in His presence, to shut out the noise of the city and, in quietness, give Him the praise He deserves. Before we engage ourselves in His work, let's meet Him in His Word… in prayer… in worship."

Evening Prayer

Today's Evening Prayer

Dear Lord, help me to have the same humble attitude that John the Baptist had. He was willing for his ministry to decrease so that Jesus' ministry could begin. He stepped aside so that the will of God would be fulfilled. Help me to not focus on myself, but rather, to train my eyes on your purposes. I love you, Lord. In Jesus' name, amen.
