Our world has drastically changed over the past 20 years. The Internet, cell phones, video chats, and electric cars are common as technology is becoming more advanced every day.

While genius minds continue to improve how we live and work, we must remember that even our ideas are not our own. They were placed in us when we were created in the image of God.

God is the ultimate Creator.

In Genesis 1:1, the word created means "brought into existence." Our human minds can't comprehend that before God created the heaven and earth, nothing existed.

God didn't create the universe out of something—He created everything out of nothing. Throughout creation, we see God's nature.

He is powerful … God only needed to speak to bring the world into existence. He is a God of order. He didn't just create the world and walk away. He has remained involved in every aspect, including our lives.

In the Bible, we read about people who had little to nothing to offer God, but they surrendered their lives to Him, and He used them in incredible ways.

We were created in the image of God, and only God has the ability to change and mold us into His image. That process begins when we give everything back to the One who created us in the first place.

Afternoon Prayer

God, I praise you as the Creator of everything. Thank you for giving me life and a free will to live however I desire. God, I choose to live my life for you. I surrender my heart to you and ask that you would mold me into your image.Thank you for allowing me to live in this beautiful world you created. In Jesus' name, amen.

If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.

God will not look you over for medals, degrees or diplomas but for scars.

The Christian does not think God will love us because we are good, but that God will make us good because He loves us.

Yesterday Afternoon's Bible study

God is the reason we exist. Our lives are in His hands. He created us with purpose, and without Him we will never live the abundant life He has called us to.

Whether or not we acknowledge Him, He is in control. Matthew Henry, a minister from the 1600s, said, "We have a necessary and constant dependence upon his providence, as the streams have upon the spring and the beams upon the sun." Everything depends on the Lord.

And God doesn't want just part of us. He wants us to live, and move, and have our being through Him.

The world needs to hear God's message of hope and love. When we share the Gospel, God uses our words to draw His creation back to Him. When we experience the life God has for us, and when we accept that He is the ruler of every area of our hearts, then we can't help but share that message with others.

We can ensure that we abide in God by stopping and connecting with Him throughout the day. By denying ourselves and choosing to live through Him, we discover God's true purpose for our lives.

Yesterday Afternoon's Prayer

Jesus, you are my Lord and Savior. Without you, I cannot do anything. I live and move and have my being in you. Jesus, You provided the way for me to live an abundant life through you when you came to earth and died for me. Thank you for your sacrifice, Jesus, that allows me to spend eternity with you. In your name, amen.
