Afternoon Bible VerseNeither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Names are important, and they distinguish us from each other.
In Acts 4:12, Paul says that salvation is found in no one other than the name of Jesus. In another verse, John 14:6, we read: "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Other religions point to prophets and leaders who offer a way to enlightenment or a path to God. However, when their leader died, they remained dead and in the grave. Jesus is the only one who died and after three days was resurrected.
It may sound arrogant for Christians to say that Jesus is the only path to God, but it is the basis of the Christian faith. It also serves as an imperative to share the Gospel until the whole world has heard the name of Jesus.
Jesus is the only perfect Lamb of God who took away the sins of the world. Therefore, He is the only one who can offer salvation to anyone who accepts Him.
Dear Lord, nothing in this life can save me—not my job, family, church, education, or good works. The world tells me that there are many paths to God, but I acknowledge that Jesus is the only way to salvation. I am so grateful for your sacrifice for me. Help me share the Good News of the Gospel with everyone I meet. In Jesus' name, amen.
If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.

God will not look you over for medals, degrees or diplomas but for scars.

The Christian does not think God will love us because we are good, but that God will make us good because He loves us.

Yesterday Afternoon's Bible VerseNot forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.:

Every week, people and churches around the world gather together in rooms, buildings, storefronts, and many other places, for the opportunity to have fellowship together. We gather as people from different backgrounds, ethnicities, cultures, and histories to join together with one purpose, and that is to collectively worship the one true God of the universe.
Part of that time is spent in worship through song and the ministry of God's Word. The writer of Hebrews tells us that we should also exhort one another as well.
Exhorting, which means to encourage one another, was extremely important to the first-century church. They not only faced extreme persecution for their beliefs but often were shunned by family and friends who did not share their beliefs.
Because many believers we read about in the Bible came from other religions or beliefs of the time and area, they often worshiped in private and bravely sought out other believers who shared in their new faith in Christ.
Today, the call to encourage each other is no less important than it was in New Testament times. And though most of us don't face the type of persecution as people did in the first century, for Christians in the 21st century, encouraging others is just as important as sharing our faith.
The Church is called to encourage in faith and life, and it all begins with us.
Father God, I pray that, through your Holy Spirit, I would have a deeper desire to actively encourage your people who are made in your image. Lead me with the words to say so that I would show not our wisdom and discernment, but yours. Thank you for placing me in a group of believers that I can grow with. I'm grateful. In Jesus' name, amen.
